The American Concrete Institute and Post-Tensioning Institute have released ACI/PTI CODE-320-25: Post-Tensioned Structural Concrete—Code Requirements and Commentary in PDF format. The document provides minimum requirements and guidance for the materials, design, and detailing of post-tensioned concrete buildings and, when applicable, nonbuilding structures. ACI/PTI CODE-320-25 was developed through a consensus process to which the PTI Technical Advisory Board Code Task Group was a key contributor. Addressing structural concrete practice with bonded and unbonded post-tensioning tendons, it supports structural engineers, concrete contractors, owners and construction professionals in achieving high standards of safety, efficiency and durability on their projects.

The document is available in PDF format through the ACI Store, www.concrete.org, or PTI Bookstore, www.post-tensioning.org. A hard copy version will be released in May.

“This code represents a significant step for the industry, providing code requirements specifically focused on post-tensioned structural concrete, while still using the familiar format of the ACI 318 code for simple end user transition,” says PTI Executive Vice President Tim Christle. “Collaboration between PTI and ACI embodies our commitment to delivering consensus-based standards that address the industry’s most critical needs.”

The PDF offering follows an earlier ACI/PTI CODE-320-25 release to ACI 320 PLUS subscribers, part of the ACI PLUS Platform affording industry professionals digital access to essential codes. The platform includes ACI 318, 319, 323 and 562 subscriptions—all offering interactive features such as 3D graphics, advanced search tools, in-document cross-referencing, and multi-set digital notetaking.
