A Concrete Masonry Checkoff (CMC) request for proposals, posted here, seeks qualified design professionals and firms for the Block Design Collective (BDC), a destination where architects and engineers can access free CMU project support. CMC aims to equip the BDC to handle a broad spectrum of concrete masonry related inquiries in every state. Realizing that objective will require partnering with consultants across the country to deliver high-quality technical support in a timely manner.
“We want to be fully prepared to meet the influx of inquiries that come in through the Block Design Collective as we look to actively promote the availability of these services and take a very exciting step for the concrete masonry industry,” says CMC National Design Director Riley Dvorak. “Our goal is to make things as simple as possible for our clients: engineers, architects, and builders. If they have a question, wherever their project may be located, we will have access to a deep pool of subject matter experts to find the answer.” Designers will have one place to call for a wide array of services—from energy modeling to moisture management to structural design support, he adds.
CMC officials will review proposals submitted by June 30 to the BDC portal.
