Terracon, a major consulting engineer and material testing player, has acquired The Transtec Group Inc., Austin, Texas-based mainline or precast pavement specialist and Command Center concrete temperature and maturity system developer. The transaction affords Terracon clients greater access to pavement engineering, research, testing, and consulting services, while channeling Transtec accounts more resources throughout the U.S.

Transtec has established a Command Center temperature and maturity system user base of concrete producers, contractors and testing labs.

“After 21 years of working with matching commitments to our coworkers and clients, Transtec and Terracon saw the vision of what we could achieve together. Our mission has always been to improve the state of the practice in pavement engineering. Becoming a Terracon company enables us to fulfill that mission with exponentially greater impact,” says Transtec President Dan Rozycki, whose business will operate as The Transtec Group, a Terracon Company.

Transtec is Terracon’s first 2025 acquisition and 26th bolt-on business since 2017.

Eight Quarter Advisors, with Denver and Boston offices, represented Transtec. “The combination of Terracon and Transtec will provide innovative solutions to help clients looking for advanced pavement engineering solutions,” notes Eight Quarter Managing Director Matt Williams. “Our firm is pleased to have introduced and facilitated Transtec and Terracon establishing this partnership, which will be beneficial to all their clients.”
