The National Precast Concrete Association has kicked off an advocacy campaign, Precast Life, with robust website, promotional video, targeted social media content, and multi-channel advertising. The www.precastlife.com site serves as a hub for resources and educational assets telling the story of how precast concrete underpins modern civilization. It presents brief profiles of innovative industry leaders; charts showing how precast stacks up against other construction materials; interactive photos that reveal how precast transforms cities; and, educational pop quizzes about precast.

NPCA Vice President of Marketing & Communications Christie Denault notes that Precast Life was launched to support industry growth, educate the public about the impact that precast structures and elements have on their daily lives, and support NPCA members’ employee recruitment and retention objectives. “Our focus is to get more people, especially students, to consider career opportunities within our industry. Additionally, we’ve created tools to make it easier for NPCA members to educate their communities and partners about precast concrete and what they do,” she says. “The campaign aims to help the broader community understand the many ways they benefit from the use of precast concrete, creating increased awareness and excitement, which we hope will instill a greater pride among those working in our industry.”

“Every student, no matter what level of education they wish to pursue, can find a place with a purpose working in the precast industry,” Denault adds. “Precast producers make things that matter. A huge network of suppliers makes things and provide services that help precasters make things that matter. There are a multitude of career options in and around this industry, and many career paths that students can pursue.”

“Precast Life aligns with NPCA’s long-term vision to support members by addressing the challenges they face, from creating a strong workforce or addressing the use of alternative materials in the market,” she concludes.
