
The National Steering Committee for the Concrete Industry Management program reports gross revenue of $2.15 million for its annual auction, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in conjunction with the World of Concrete. Leading the late-January event’s top draws were mixer truck donations from Mack Trucks and Revolution Concrete Mixers as well as Peterbilt Motors and Con-Tech Mfg., plus a truck-mounted 38M boom pump package from Alliance Concrete Pumps, Papé Kenworth, and Kenworth Truck Co. and Somero Enterprises S-485 Laser Screed.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the concrete industry for their outstanding support in making this a record-breaking event,” said CIM Auction Committee Chairman Ben Robuck (Cemex USA). “The results reflect high regard for the CIM program and the pressing need for skilled leaders in the industry. This year’s auction was a phenomenal success in terms of the value of donated items and the enthusiastic participation.”
“We received tremendous support from the World of Concrete show management, Informa Markets, and Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers,” adds CIM Marketing Committee Chairman Brian Gallagher (Graycor). “Numerous companies and organizations helped us achieve a record auction. This year’s event showcased exciting contributions from first-time donors like Toyota and AICrete, alongside the continued generosity of our returning supporters. These donations highlight the industry’s unwavering commitment to empowering students, enhancing education and advancing the future of the concrete industry.”
Items up for silent and live bidding included cement, fly ash and aggregate loads, concrete saws, drills, safety equipment, training sessions, reference books and software subscriptions, laptop computers, plus sports travel or golf and vacation travel packages. In addition to the extensive pool of items donated, companies and organizations made financial contributions to this year’s auction, among them: Advancing Operational Excellence, Baldwin Filters, Caterpillar, Cintas Corporation, Cummins Inc., Foley Products Co. Irving Materials Inc., Keystone Private Wealth, Lithko, Paccar Parts Fleet Services, Sioux Corp., SRM Concrete, Structural Group, United Rentals, Volvo Construction Equipment, Vulcan Materials Company Foundation, and World of Concrete.
Auction proceeds and financial donations benefit four-year Concrete Industry Management bachelor of science degree programs at Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro; New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark; South Dakota State University, Brookings; Texas State University, San Marcos; and, California State University, Chico.
ROBUST 2025 START
World of Concrete helped the construction industry kicked off the new year with a gathering of 57,908 registered professionals. The late-January show featured 1,522 exhibitors across Las Vegas Convention Center indoor booth or outdoor display and demonstration areas.

More than 180 educational sessions afforded participants the knowledge and skills to bring plant or site operations to the next level through business strategy and project management. Experts shared insights into current industry topics such as changes in regulations, geological conditions, work force trends and growth opportunities throughout the sector. Leading special events, the Spec Mix Bricklayer 500 World Championship assembled 27 masons competing for the title of “World’s Best Bricklayer” along with $125,000 in cash and prizes.
