A new Geneva Pipe and Precast operation with nearly one acre under roof houses a Schlüsselbauer Technology Exact 2500 dry cast production system, including main machine and fully automated Transexact crane for pipe and manhole transfer; Advanced Concrete Technologies batch plant; MBK automated reinforcement cage welding machine; and, Kraft Curing Systems Vapor Generator. The Salt Lake City plant becomes a critical satellite for the recently upgraded Geneva Pipe flagship in Orem, Utah.
The Exact 2500 system increases capacity with fewer operators when measured against conventional concrete pipe and manhole production schemes. Its modular form apparatus facilitates quick pipe or manhole changeovers and rapid transition between structure sizes. A centralized production management system and fully automated handling further optimize efficiency, speed, and consistency.

“The demand for high-quality infrastructure products continue to grow, and we are committed to expanding our precast manufacturing capabilities,” says Scott Montross, CEO of Northwest Pipe, Geneva parent company. “The Exact 2500 is one of the most efficient drycast concrete pipe [installations] in the North America, enabling us to scale production while improving quality and reliability for customers.”

The investment strengthens Northwest Pipe’s position as a leader in durable solutions, he adds, delivering innovative products to meet the evolving needs of water and wastewater infrastructure stakeholders. The new Salt Lake City facility builds on a strategic expansion in the robust Utah construction market, following the installation of two Schlüsselbauer systems at the Orem plant, north of Salt Lake City: Perfect Base for monolithic manhole bases and Perfect Pipe for concrete-plastic composite pipe.
