Lafarge Canada, its subsidiary Innocon, and Canadian builder The Daniels Corporation announced a First Carbon Smart Design collaboration using advanced concrete mixed design technology at the Daniels on Parliament condominium development in downtown Toronto.
The landmark project, which is slated for occupation in mid-2025, involves the use of approximately 31,000 m3 of Lafarge’s ECOPact concrete, which is about 75 percent of the project’s required concrete. This marks the highest use of ECOPact concrete in high-rise construction in Eastern Canada by Innocon to date.
The company conducted a comprehensive assessment for each phase of the project, employing approximately 38 distinct ECOPact mix designs and schedule flexibility to achieve substantial carbon savings while maintaining construction timelines. The initiative sets a new benchmark for how strategic collaboration in design can drive progress in the construction industry.

“This unique initiative marks a progressive milestone in how we collaborate to build high-quality living spaces sustainably,” says David Kelly, president, Innocon. “We aim to establish a new standard for sustainable construction in Toronto and to promote further adoption of ECOPact, our low-carbon concrete solution, in the construction industry.”
The Daniels on Parliament project, located at 365 Parliament Street in Toronto’s Regent Park consists of one 25-story tower and one 10-story tower, offering 642 residential units, underground parking, and retail units at ground level.
