Associated Builders & Contractors and Portland Cement Association are the first national groups in construction to issue statements on the U.S. Presidential election, where Donald Trump won decisively in the electoral and popular vote.
“ABC is optimistic about the future of America’s construction industry and the opportunities to advance policies that protect free enterprise, reduce regulatory burdens and expand workforce development,” says CEO Michael Bellaman. “With leaders and lawmakers committed to promoting economic growth and supporting the principles of fair and open competition, we are confident that the construction industry will thrive and workers will be given the opportunity to build with fewer obstacles. We welcome the opportunity to work with a president who is willing to welcome all of the U.S. construction industry to rebuild America.”
“Portland Cement Association is eager to work with the incoming Administration to create market‐based policies and initiatives that will enable the cement and concrete industry’s continued reduction of its carbon footprint while preserving its global competitiveness. This industry takes pride in fortifying the actual building blocks of infrastructure, which allows all Americans to lead productive lives. We ask that the Administration assist us in continuing to gain ground in decarbonization efforts by addressing the regulatory burdens hindering our industry’s progress in the utilization of alternative fuels, development of lower-carbon cements, and implementation of essential carbon capture technology,” adds PCA CEO Mike Ireland. “
Also offering an early take on the November 5 election result is Eco Materials Technologies CEO Grant Quasha. As the leader in fly ash processing, marketing and distribution, he notes, Eco Material stands ready to support President-elect Trump’s vision for American infrastructure and manufacturing growth. “Our company’s proven track record of producing construction materials domestically, with over 100 facilities serving 4,000 locations across 45 states, demonstrates commitment to American industry. As the nation invests in expanding its infrastructure and manufacturing base, our supplementary cementitious materials offer a proven solution for enhancing construction performance. We look forward to contributing to the strengthening of America’s industrial capacity,” Quasha affirms.
