Afinitas has deepened its expansive concrete pipe and precast equipment, machinery and accessory suite, acquiring the concrete division assets and intellectual property of Minnesota-based Elk River Machine Co. Private equity-backed Hutchinson Manufacturing LLC divested the division to focus on other areas of custom metal fabrication and related contract work. The transaction brings Afinitas wire mesh bender and roller, cage expander, wet and dry cast form, plus retaining wall formwork offerings. ERMC Senior Designer Paul Gill will join the Afinitas team to assist with integrating them into a portfolio of brands led by HawkeyePedershaab, New Hampton Metal Fab and Spillman Co.

ERMC’s flagship computerized mesh roller is available in models forming cages up to 96- and 144-in. diameter.

“The acquisition of ERMC’s technology, combined with our extensive offering, enables us to serve customers with an even more comprehensive selection,” says Afinitas CEO Jason Duncan. “Equally important, we look forward to servicing and being a trusted resource to the current ERMC customer base.”

Afinitas Global Vice President of Engineering Dave Stoller, 319/394-2218 or [email protected], is overseeing the day-to-day ERMC asset integration.
