Mack Industries has acquired the Bluffton Precast Concrete Co., a Bluffton, Ohio business under the Akin family for 55 years. The deal marks an eighth precast operation for Mack Industries, joining home state, Michigan, North Carolina and Florida plants, along with four Ohio ready mixed concrete sites.
“We are honored and excited to work with the team at Bluffton and continue the legacy of quality precast built by the Akin family,” says Mack Industries CEO Betsy Mack Nespeca, third generation business leader. The transaction improves the two companies’ capabilities to provide quality, service and additional resources for customers in northwest Ohio and surrounding markets, she adds. Their combined offering will include manholes, catch basins, big block retaining wall, plus box culvert, wastewater and stormwater systems, highway barriers and pump station structures.
“We wanted a succession plan with a company that has the same shared values as ours. I strongly believe we found that with Mack Industries,” affirms Bluffton Precast Vice President – Operations Michael J. Akin. “I believe Mack will continue to build on the legacy that my father started many years ago. Bluffton Precast Concrete is in the right hands.
