Outdoor Living Supply looks far and wide in Bedrock, Geobunga, LandCare deals

Continuing an ambitious expansion, Minnesota-based Outdoor Living Supply has acquired Bedrock Landscape Supply LLC, an independent distributor of natural stone, pavers, bulk materials, and landscape supplies to southern Nevada professional and do-it-yourself accounts. Based in Las Vegas, the family-owned business was founded in 2018 by Mark Wilson, who remains at the helm.

“Bedrock Landscape Supply is a great addition to our family of companies, providing us with the perfect entry into the expanding Las Vegas market,” says OLS CEO Brian Price. “It is my pleasure to welcome Mark and his talented team to OLS. I look forward to seeing what our combined teams will accomplish.”

“We are excited to begin this partnership with OLS as we enter our next phase of growth,” adds Wilson. “They share our passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience and commitment to providing the resources needed to expand opportunities for associates and customers.”

Shortly after announcing the Bedrock deal, OLS closed on Honolulu-based Geobunga, an independent distributor of pavers, natural stone, garden elements, bulk materials, and landscape supplies. Former stone and tile importers Layla and Andrew Dedrick, seeing opportunity in an underserved urban gardening market, have grown Geobunga over the past 13 years into Hawaii’s leading outdoor living resource for homeowners, contractors, and landscape designers.

“The acquisition provides us a strong entry into the Hawaiian market,” notes Price. “Layla and Andrew have built an outstanding business that combines stellar customer service and product innovation with operational integrity.”

“Our business embodies the authentic and tropical feel of Hawaii, as well as our commitment to serving the community with excellent customer service and hospitality,” add the Dedricks, who will continue to lead Geobunga. “We immediately recognized that OLS would celebrate the unique attributes of our brand and that our partnership would provide exceptional value to customers and excellent opportunities to employees.”

OLS effected another deal before the ink on the Geobunga closing papers had dried, acquiring Madbury, N.H. hardscape, natural stone, landscape supply and bulk material distributor LandCare Associates Inc. Daniel Gordon founded the company in 1984 as a property maintenance and landscape services provider. He moved into distribution seven years later, building the LandCare Stone brand, and with the 2015 purchase of Stratham Hill Stone established the two-store business as northern New England’s largest dealer of its kind.

“LandCare has done an exceptional job evolving its business and building a reputation for best-in-class customer service,” affirms Price. “We are excited to add this strategic acquisition to our growing network and look forward to the growth opportunities that the partnership between LandCare Associates and Landscapers Depot will create in this market.”

“This fortifies career opportunities for our dedicated team of professionals and allows us to build on our expansive base of supplier partners,” adds Gordon, who continues at the LandCare Associates helm. “We are humbled by the success our company has experienced over the past 38 years and energized by the enhanced growth possibilities this new partnership offers customers, suppliers and employees alike.”

The LandCare, Geobunga and Bedrock deals follow a slew of transactions OLS has booked this year, including Back Yard Living of Abingdon, Mass.; Bulks Landscape Supply of Marietta, Ga.; Edgefield Plant & Stone Center of Greensboro, N.C.; Norristown Brick of Pennsylvania; Parker Hardscapes of Reno, Nev.; Stone Garden of Wilmington, N.C.; and, The Rock Garden of Truckee, Calif.
