Lydia Kennard

Vulcan Materials Co. has elected Lydia Kennard to its 12-member Board of Directors, where she will serve on the Audit and Safety, Health & Environmental Affairs committees. She is chief executive officer of KDG Construction Consulting, a provider of construction management services for public infrastructure projects, and Quality Engineering Solutions, a full-service pavement engineering and construction inspection firm. Kennard also serves on the boards of AECOM, Freeport-McMo-Ran Inc., and Prologis Inc.

Phillip Walker

Minnesota-based Wells, a top operator in precast, prestressed concrete building solutions, has named Phillip Walker as director of Business Development for the Mountain States region. He returns to concrete production after serving as director of Operations for FB20 LLC. Working with Vice President of Sales Dan Parker, Walker’s primary job duties will be expanding Wells’ position in the marketplace, looking ahead to foster new opportunities and relationships.

Walker will play an integral role in sharing how Wells’ building solutions can create value for partners’ unique project needs. “He brings great energy and enthusiasm and will support finding new business in the region,” says Parker. “Phil is an asset, he not only sees the big picture, but he’s well known in the industry and has a truly vested interest in his partners and projects, creating trust by being a valuable resource.”

Under a multi-year contract effective this quarter, Kentucky-based Charah Solutions Inc. will market approximately 150,000 tons of specification grade fly ash annually from a central Indiana power generating station. The material will be distributed primarily by bulk tanker through the company’s MultiSource network. With nearly 40 truck and rail loadout-equipped locations across the country, the network provides cement and concrete customers a continuous and reliable supply of fly ash and other supplementary cementitious materials. of fly ash and other supplementary cementitious materials.

Outdoor Living Supply, Rochester, Minn. has strengthened its mid-Atlantic market presence with the acquisition of Pennsylvania-based Norristown Brick, an independent masonry, landscape, and hardscape materials supplier serving commercial and residential accounts in the Montgomery County, Pa. area. Founded in 1986, the company is now under the Lyons and Swire families’ third generations, ands has grown into a regional operator with 13 full-time employees.
