The precast concrete industry was on full display March 3-5 in Kansas City, Mo., as record-setting attendee and exhibit numbers combined for an exciting and eventful Precast Show 2022. Registration exceeded 4,600 individuals, more than 90 percent of them experiencing 80,000-plus square feet of Kansas City Convention Center space harboring plant equipment and machinery, accessory, material, and service provider exhibits.
“What an exciting week for the industry,” says National Precast Concrete Association President Fred Grubbe. “The joy on people’s faces said it all as they gathered together, saw old friends and met new people. The feedback from exhibitors[:] the show was not just well-attended, but active conversations led to both sales and potential business down the road. I believe everyone was eager to come to Kansas City and return to business as normal.”
“The Precast Show is the highlight of the year in our industry and a time to show the world who and what we are,” adds NPCA Chairman Mark Wieser (Wieser Concrete Products). “I want to thank the exhibitors and Producer members, but also commend Fred and the NPCA staff for all their hard work in making this a truly remarkable event. They set the bar really high for the years to come.”
The Precast Show 2022 saw the National Concrete Masonry Association and its Icon Expo exhibitors—along with Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute associates—join NPCA and the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute for the Precast Show staging. Registration numbers and square footage for the event reached their highest totals since the 2008 recession. Concrete block and paver interests—soon to see new representation with the July 2022 unification of ICPI and NCMA—will again join NPCA and PCI for the Precast 2023, February 23-25 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Ohio’s capital city.
