Continuing a Virginia market expansion that kicked into high gear with a fall 2020 deal for Richmond-based GreenRock Materials, Chaney Enterprises recently closed on TW Block & Concrete of Onley, serving ready mixed, masonry, and aggregate customers in the state’s Eastern Shore and lower Chesapeake Bay region. The deal was consummated with T&W Block Co. Inc. principals President Genevieve Walker and Chief Financial Officer Wendy Walker (sisters).

Chaney Enterprises will maintain all 25 TW Block employees, along with sales, service and dispatching leader Tammy Hill, a 35-year industry veteran. “We are happy to be able to provide more resources for our valued employees, customers, and friends by putting them in the hands of a larger family-owned company,” affirms Genevieve Walker.

“As an already successful business, we look forward to supporting the TW Block & Concrete family and joining them with our team. Together, we can continue to provide excellent services and products to Accomack and Northampton Counties while working to enhance local communities,” adds CEO Francis “Hall” Chaney, III.

Assets in the transaction include the TW Barge Terminal in Onancock, Va., off the South Branch Onancock Creek. It becomes a fourth Chaney Enterprises aggregates depot in the Mid-Atlantic region, joining the Sussex Barge Terminal in Seaford, Del., Waldorf Rail Terminal in Maryland, and Chesapeake Barge Terminal in Virginia. Along with three Branscome ready mixed plants, the latter was acquired in August 2021 from Colas USA. The Onancock facility augments the Chesapeake Terminal and increases Chaney Enterprises’ capacity to supply construction materials to the Hampton Roads/Virginia Beach market.
