Sunroc Corp., a subsidiary of Utah construction materials producer and heavy/civil contractor Clyde Companies, has closed on the assets of Idaho Falls peer Depatco Inc. The deal facilitates strategic expansion into eastern Idaho, increasing the Sunroc geographic footprint and product offering. Along with nine gravel pits throughout Idaho and Wyoming, Depatco’s construction services include concrete paving and utilities. The company has grown to approximately 200 employees through 40-plus years in operation.
“With an alignment in company values and construction services, this acquisition is a natural fit and important step in our growth. Depatco has built a great culture and reputation, and Sunroc operates with those same values and standards—continuing Clyde Companies’ vision of ‘Building a Better Community,’” says Sunroc President Scott Okelberry.
“With their breadth and depth of experience, we are confident that Sunroc will improve upon [our] construction products and services,” adds Depatco President Greg Stoddard, whose family owned the business and will remain involved in the operations.
