Pavement removal bucket engineered to reduce the time and expense in removing concrete slabs and bridge decks. Excavator-suited Slab Crab models are available to accommodate 4- to 19-in. thick slabs or 5,000- to 150,000-lb. loads, and with direct pin-on or Kenco WedgeBolt Coupler System attachment options.
Concrete is saw-cut into manageable slabs and simply lifted out; slabs can then be loaded directly onto a truck bed. A single operator can remove slabs cleanly, without disturbing the sub-base. The new Slab Crab design features serrated upper jaws to keep pavement pieces secure during lifting operations. A smooth lower jaw allows the operator to release the slab in its desired location. Slab Crab is part of an attachment portfolio geared to wheel loaders, excavators, dozers and backhoes. — Kenco Corp., Ligonier, Pa., www.kenco.com
