Ready Mix USA brings the cool factor to Atlanta project

Ready Mix USA is expected to provide approximately 80,000 cubic yards of ready-mix concrete for the construction of 1105 West Peachtree—a 3.5-acre, multi-use development in midtown Atlanta. The $530 million project got off to a necessarily cool start in mid-2019 when the Cemex USA subsidiary used liquid nitrogen to meet temperature-controlled mix specifications for the foundation.

The 45th World of Concrete wrapped up last month in Las Vegas with attendance of approximately 54,000 registered professionals and 1,310 companies exhibiting across 700,000-plus net square feet of indoor and outdoor Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) space. Exhibitors included 255 companies new to the show, while international presence was marked with 237 companies from 29 countries outside the United States.

The Concrete Industry Management program auction grossed more than $1.2 million from bidding on a Mack Granite-mounted McNeilus Bridgemaster mixer, Somero S-485 laser screed, Shumaker Load and Go truck wash system, Mahindra Automotive 2020 Roxor off-road vehicle, and a host of smaller ticket product, material, equipment, and entertainment, sports or travel package offerings. The event was staged at the Las Vegas Convention Center amid World of Concrete 2020 day two activities. Proceeds will benefit CIM degree programs at Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro; New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark; Texas State University, San Marcos; and, California State University, Chico.
