ACT gears high-speed agitator to UHPC mix production

Advanced Concrete Technologies (ACT) marks 30 years of delivering German engineered concrete mixing and batch plant solutions to the North American precast industry in 2020. Some of the most important material technology advances in the past three decades include the adoption of self-consolidating concrete (SCC) and, more recently, development of Ultra High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) mix designs that can achieve upward of 30,000-psi compressive strength.

Just as concrete mix design technology has evolved, ACT officials note, so too have mixer and batch plant solutions. The company arrives at the 2020 Precast Show in Fort Worth, Texas, with a Wiggert HPGM high shear countercurrent planetary mixer whose high-speed agitator is engineered specifically for UHPC mix designs and specialty concretes.

Additionally, ACT will demonstrate the proven WCS batch plant control system, which provides customers with automation prospects; comprehensive plant integration; increased concrete production process consistency; automated total moisture correction technology; real-time performance data integration with third party enterprise management systems; self-diagnostics; and, preventive maintenance reminders that reduce total cost of plant ownership.

ACT routinely works with company owners who want to boost their competitive edge by increasing plant efficiency, reducing costs, and improving product quality, as well as producers who are looking for ways to incorporate and diversify value added products using specialty mix design production methods. — Advanced Concrete Technologies, Greenland, N.H., 603/431-5661
