Registration, exhibit acreage, content point to strong ConExpo-Con/Agg

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers, manager of 2020 ConExpo-Con/Agg and International Fluid Power Exhibition, March 10-14, reports a new single-week watermark: More than 38,000 individuals registered for the Las Vegas Convention Center gathering ahead of an early-bird deadline last month.

ConExpo-Con/Agg 2017 was an appropriate venue for the Truck Mixer Manufacturers Bureau members and customers to kick off a fleet graphics campaign supporting the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association-aligned Build With Strength coalition. The event also saw the emergence of a coalition mascot (inset), shown standing down at a pervious concrete display.

“Overall registrations are pacing well ahead of previous shows, indicating a continued sense of optimism from attendees as they look for new products and innovations to help succeed in the years ahead,” says AEM Vice President of Exhibitions Dana Wuesthoff. Momentum continues to build for 2020, she adds, as nearly 2,800 exhibitors are set to unveil 500-plus products or machines spanning concrete, aggregates, asphalt, earthmoving, lifting, utilities and mining. Indoor and outdoor exhibits will cover more than 2.6 million net square feet. Tuesday-Friday exhibit hours are 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-3 p.m.

The ConExpo-Con/Agg education program features 150 industry-driven sessions in Safety, Concrete, Aggregates, Business Best Practices, Technology Solutions and five other contractor-geared tracks. Four 60- or 90-minute Concrete sessions will run 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the first three days (Tuesday-Thursday). Leading new Concrete sessions on this year’s schedule is “Past, Present and Future: The Truck that Built America,” March 11, 3-4 p.m., South Hall Room S232. National Ready Mixed Concrete Association Executive Vice President, Operations and Compliance Gary Mullings will examine the 100-year history of the concrete mixer truck, whose revolving drum concept was first patented in 1918.

Education sessions will run concurrent with exhibits and networking events, many involving NRMCA, National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association or other partners with AEM in ConExpo-Con/Agg. Full agenda, plus show and education session registration details, are posted at www.conexpoconagg.com.
