Joel Simpson

Pittsburgh-based Forney LP recently named Joel Simpson as senior vice president, Sales & Marketing, a new position supporting ForneyVault, an automated, integrated construction materials testing platform. He most recently served in the same capacity for O.Berk Company, a rigid packaging and custom package development company in New Jersey.

Separately, Forney has added Stonemont Solutions, a concrete, aggregate and asphalt quality control and mix design software specialist with 3,500-plus North American plant installations, as a ForneyVault integration partner. The arrangement will see users enter specimen parameters in the Stonemont program, while ForneyVault collects and transfers test results. Stonemont customers can view data, conduct analysis and generate reports in one place.

ForneyVault links testing machines, third-party software and ancillary equipment via a private cloud database. It enables seamless data flow throughout the testing process, reduces risk of errors, and helps increase contract guideline compliance. Stonemont offers desktop, server, enterprise and hosted editions of its software that scale from single plant operator to the largest producers. The centrally managed editions provide real-time data access and material analysis.

Michigan-based Pensmore Reinforcement Technologies, dba Helix Steel, has appointed John Flush as manager of its Grand Rapids plant, responsible for supporting business goals, steering production operations and cultivating a business environment that maximizes efficiencies, workforce development and utilization, and expansion opportunities. He brings more than 30 years’ steel industry experience, including 25 years as Materials/Operations manager for Light Metal Corp. His arrival coincides with machinery installations, increasing plant capacity by 30 percent, in response to growing demand for the flagship Helix Micro-Rebar 5-25, a discontinuous concrete reinforcement product.

Meritor, Inc. has appointed Chris Villavarayan, president of the Global Truck segment, as executive vice president and chief operating officer. He will be responsible for both the Global Truck and Aftermarket & Industrial and Trailer segments, and maintain duties from his most recent post.
