Mar-Bal Inc. recently acquired the AlertTile and RediMat assets, and is bringing the brands under the Detectable Warning Systems umbrella as part of its family of proprietary products for the construction, electrical, appliance and safety businesses. In anticipation of an aggressive DWS growth trajectory, the company has increased capacity at its Ohio, Missouri and Virginia plants.
“The DWS line represents a radical change so product development and manufacturing technology will play a key role,” observes Vice President of Product Engineering and Manufacturing Technology Vince Profeta. “Investments in new equipment were made to ensure on-time and just-in-time [production]. These include 1,000- and 500-ton compression presses, robotics, and secondary equipment. Additionally, we are increasing warehousing space to hold all inventory, and make sure systems are in place to ship quickly to our expanding customer bases.”
