Silo Pros has added the Dual Impact BinWhip to its arsenal of plant equipment maintenance tools. The new device from Minnesota-based Pneumat Systems Inc. is designed to eliminate the need to enter silos or bins, while cleaning or dislodging the hardest materials from such vessels.
The BinWhip mounts to the silo or bin top and, in lieu of external air source, runs on a hydraulic power unit requiring 440-volt 3-phase electrical hook up. A boom extends into the vessel and guides a main hose assembly and cleaning head. The latter bears flexible whips with counter-rotational cutting heads to create what Pneumat Systems describes as buzzsaw-like action along built up, rat holed or clogging material without damaging vessel walls.
