Air compressor

A single-stage, oil-injected rotary screw type portable air compressor, the XAS 950 is powered by a liquid-cooled six-cylinder turbocharged Caterpillar C7.1 Tier 4 Final diesel engine, and offers what product engineers note are simplified maintenance and cost savings by putting the operator in control. Featuring new pressure adjusted through cognitive electronics (PACE) technology, the model matches engine speed, power, and torque, with air demand, resulting in 15-20 percent fuel savings. Additionally, PACE increases the operating range with the ability to cover multiple applications on a single compressor, increasing the unit’s versatility.

Sized to applications including sandblasting and shotcrete, the XAS 950 has variable flow and pressure settings through the PACE technology. This results in a wide range of pressure and flow settings such as 950 cfm at 100 psi, 900 cfm at 150 psi and 750 cfm at 200 psi. The new range was designed with overall size, operation and maintenance in mind. Operating under 8,250 lbs., the single-axle machine is up to 33 percent lighter than other compressors with similar output. The XAS 950 is equipped with a spillage-free frame, which helps to avoid oil, coolant or fuel spillage for 110 percent containment. It is also designed for easy access and serviceability to consumables inside of the machine, as well as a centralized drain system.Atlas Copco Power Technique North America, Rock Hill, S.C., 800/732-6762;
