Maschmeyer, Ozinga, Miles pros top Mixer Driver Championship pool

Luis Martinez, an Orlando-based delivery professional for Maschmeyer Concrete Co., took the 2019 National Mixer Truck Driver Championship, staged October 5-6 in Kissimmee, Fla. during the NRMCA ConcreteWorks 2019 conference. He received a $5,000 check from NRMCA affiliate, the Truck Mixer Manufacturers Bureau, which was among 22 sponsors of an event featuring a record pool of 96 drivers tackle eight-station driving course and six-point ability challenges, plus written exam. 

Rounding out 2019 National Mixer Driver Championship leaders, from runner up to fifth place, were Bruce Mitchell of Ozinga Ready Mix Concrete, Gary, Ind., $2,000 prize; Greg Browne of Miles Sand & Gravel, Lacey, Wash., $1,000; Michael Trierweiler of Cemex USA, San Francisco, $600; and, Ronald Lengyen of Silvi Concrete, Morrisville, Pa., $400. 

The NRMCA Safety, Environmental & Operations Committee opens the Championship, now in its 14th year, to winners of state or regional mixer driving challenges, or those taking producer member driving competitions.
