Lehigh Hanson Inc. and trucking partners at central California, Phoenix and Seattle aggregate operations are testing the potential for improved fleet utilization, plus aggregate delivery booking and scheduling metrics, through a cloud-based platform from Trelar Logistics Inc., Austin, Texas. A vocational vehicle marketplace, Trelar connects dump truck owners, sand & gravel and stone producers, plus contractors via an application programmed to increase order and routing transparency; reduce delays; and, provide tracking, real-time data and automated payments.
“Our carriers will be able to schedule their deliveries and availability, as well as improve their cash-flow. All of this is designed to help drivers better manage their business,” says Lehigh Hanson Vice President of Sales & Marketing Phillip Holland. “The decision to pilot Trelar’s technology is a key milestone in our digital transformation. We are optimistic about Trelar’s scalable solution [and] vision of how digitization can be applied in the construction materials industry.” Implementing the platform into the business model and streamlining day-to-day booking and scheduling processes will reduce costs and increase proximity to customers and partners, he adds.
“We believe we are at an exciting turning point in the industrial era [and are] honored to be playing a role in the construction industry’s shift toward increased digitization that will lead to efficiency gains, improved customer engagement and competitiveness,” notes Trelar CEO Gary Clarke. “Trelar is going to help lead that transformation with Lehigh Hanson and other flagship clients.”
