Members and allies are recognizing the American Concrete Pipe Association-organized Concrete Pipe Week, August 18-24, through plant tours and employee appreciation events, while engaging federal, state or local officials in discussions about product quality, performance and resilience as they relate to storm and sanitary sewer infrastructure, culverts, and small precast bridges.

Among governors honoring the theme in their states is Iowa’s Kim Reynolds, who proclaims: “Reinforced concrete pipe and precast concrete products are of vital importance to sustainable communities and to the health, safety, and well-being of the people of Iowa; it is in the public interest for citizens, civic leaders, and children in Iowa to gain knowledge of and to maintain a progressive interest and understand the importance of reinforced concrete pipe and precast concrete in their respective communities.”

One of the most widely subscribed promotional events involving a cement-based product, Concrete Pipe Week affirms industry contributions to states and provinces, and likewise serves as an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of ACPA partners: departments of transportation, public works agencies, contractors, engineers, reinforcing-steel producers, plant equipment manufacturers, and raw material suppliers.
