ICPI opens Hardscape NA Award call for entries

Entries in the ICPI 2019 Hardscape North America Awards will be accepted at an online portal through September 5, with winning and honorable projects announced during Hardscape North America, October 16-18 at the Kentucky Exposition Center, Louisville. 

The program recognizes residential and commercial hardscape projects in the U.S. and Canada, including walkways, patios, driveways, and commercial plazas, parking lots, and streets. Winning and honorable mention awards in 18 categories will be presented to hardscape contractors. Designers and paver or segmental retaining wall unit producers behind winning and honorable mention projects will also be recognized at the 2019 Hardscape North America trade show and featured in Interlock Design magazine, an HNA website gallery, plus industry publications and social media. Projects entered by Monday, August 12 receive a discount of $40 per entry; ICPI, National Concrete Masonry Association and Brick Industry Association members receive additional discounts for submissions.

The 2019 HNA Awards categories include:

  • Concrete paver, residential (< and > 3,000 sq. ft.)
  • Concrete paver, commercial (< and > 15,000 sq. ft.)
  • Concrete paver permeable, residential or commercial (all sizes)
  • Segmental retaining walls, residential or commercial (all sizes)
  • Combination of hardscape products, residential (< and > 4,000 sq. ft.)
  • Combination of hardscape products, commercial (all sizes)

Awards submissions will be judged on design (including use of color, shape, texture and pattern); quality of construction and craftsmanship; compatibility with related construction materials and systems; construction innovation; and, overall excellence. Entrants will be asked to submit five photo files and written descriptions of the completed projects that address the five judging criteria. The HNA Awards program is produced by ICPI; endorsed by NCMA and BIA; and, sponsored by Belgard and Keystone Hardscapes.
