NRMCA has named David Buoncristiani of Central Concrete Supply Co., San Jose, Calif., the 2019 Ready Mixed Concrete Delivery Professional Driver of the Year. Based at the producer’s South San Francisco plant, he is recognized for career achievements, outstanding safety record, professionalism, driving competency and customer service skills.
“While hauling over 15,000 cubic yards of concrete, incident free in 2018, David navigated some of San Francisco’s most challenging roads and terrain with exceptional driving skill, intuition, and attention to detail,” notes Central Concrete Operations Manager Joe Cerrito in Buoncristiani’s Driver of the Year nomination.
Judges reviewing candidates from NRMCA producer members across the country also recognized three Runners Up in the Ready Mixed Concrete Delivery Professional Driver of the Year program: 42-year veteran driver Mike Salo of GCC Ready Mix in Aberdeen, S.D.; 32-year veteran mixer driver Eddie Thompson of Chandler Concrete Co. in Burlington, N.C.; and, 36-year veteran driver George Weaver of Wayne Concrete in Shinglehouse, Pa. The NRMCA-affiliated Truck Mixer Manufacturers Bureau will present $5,000 and $1,000 checks to the Driver of the Year and Runners Up, each of whom will be honored at an awards luncheon during the NRMCA Annual Convention, March 5-7 in Tampa.
