Christensen to lead BASF Admixture Systems business

Dr. Bruce Christensen, vice president, has assumed responsibility for the BASF Admixture Systems business in the U.S. and Canada, operating from the regional business unit headquarters near Cleveland and succeeding Juan Alfonso Garcia, who was named head of Construction Chemicals Latin America in October.

Christensen will be responsible for leading the entire Admixture Systems business operations with a focus on the ready-mixed, precast/prestressed, manufactured concrete products, and underground construction market sectors. He has 25-plus years’ industry experience, including several years within the BASF Construction Chemicals division. He began his career as an Admixture Systems group technology manager and has held various regional and global roles in research and development, operations, marketing and communications throughout North America, Asia and Europe. Christensen holds bachelor’s degrees in both chemical engineering and materials science and engineering from the University of Minnesota, plus a Ph.D. in materials and engineering from Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. where he studied portland cement chemistry and concrete technology.
