Lanxess has invested in new equipment and technology to make its North American Technical Competence Center – Construction (NACCC) for Inorganic Pigments the most modern lab for colored concrete in the U.S.; offer customers the best possible technical services and support; and, fulfill what management notes are the highest standards in terms of safety, regulatory compliance and quality.
|Primary technical support through the Lanxess NACCC includes color matching, metering equipment recommendations, troubleshooting, pigment optimization, raw material evaluations, plant-to-plant correlations, green building initiatives and solar reflectance testing.|
Upgrades at the Burgettstown, Pa., facility include a redesign netting additional training space, along with new lighting critical to visual color interpretation and rendering. A high definition monitor provides interactive visual aids to facilitate internal and external training. New ventilation hoods designed to comply with anticipated safety and environmental regulations and standards make the facility future-ready.

The two-and-a-half-day Workshop combines comprehensive classroom learning and hands-on technical experience. It is designed to teach customers how to make colored concrete products with more consistency, more economically and with greater confidence. Participants learn proper techniques for color matching, pigment selection, and optimization. Entering its 28th consecutive year, the Bayferrox Color Workshop covers elements of color theory, pigment loadings, proper handling of iron oxides, automated metering systems, and parameters that can affect cement-based products’ finished color.
