100,000th McNeilus mixer bound for CalPortland’s Glacier Northwest fleet

A milestone, technology-laden Bridgemaster that McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing Co. displayed at the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s ConcreteWorks conference outside Washington, D.C., has been dispatched to Washington State, joining the fleet of the CalPortland Co. Glacier Northwest business.

Taking stock of the company’s 100,000th mixer truck, McNeilus Vice President and General Manager Jesus Crespo noted, “This is a tribute to the legacy our people have built over more than five decades. From design and engineering to manufacturing and sales, this organization has worked hard to create trucks that lead the industry and deliver solid added value for our customers.”

“We’ve been a McNeilus customer for decades and it’s an honor to be a part of this production milestone,” adds CalPortland Vice President of Asset Services Steve Mitchell. “It’s always a big event when we get a new truck with the latest equipment and technology.”

The Bridgemaster mixer was mounted on a Kenworth T880S and finished at the manufacturer’s Minnesota flagship facility just ahead of the late-September ConcreteWorks gathering. It is equipped with the FLEX Controls package, allowing more precise mixing; Automatic Washout System, saving operator time by virtually eliminating the need to access the top of the mixer for cleaning; Hydraulic Chute Assist, designed to keep the operator away from foldover action; Preco Electronic radar sensors for collision avoidance; three-camera Street Smart Vision; M80 Series Drum, augmenting mixing efficiency by moving the center of gravity down; and, GradeMaster, which automatically adjusts drum speed when the vehicle is on an incline.
