NRMCA Chairman Rodney Grogan (MMC Materials), Vice Chairman William Sandbrook (U.S. Concrete) and Safety, Environmental & Operations Committee Chairman David Williams (Chaney Enterprises) represented the ready mixed concrete industry at a late-October White House gathering for the workforce development-rooted Pledge to America’s Workers campaign.

Alongside President Donald Trump, co-hosts National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow and Senior Adviser Ivanka Trump reviewed campaign momentum: More than 160 companies or associations—including 16 NRMCA producer members—have signed Pledge to America’s Workers commitments to training or retraining 6.3 million current or new team members over the next five years. The campaign launched in July 2018 with 20 signatories and a 3.8 million-worker pool. NRMCA encourages Pledge to America’s Workers participation given industry concerns over mixer driver shortages and mission of the association’s newly chartered Workforce Development Committee.
