Solomon Colors’ Game of Stones challenges flatwork, surface teams

Solomon Colors is registering three- to six-person teams through August 1 for “Game of Stones,” a flatwork or vertical surface finishing competition during its 2018 Decorative Concrete Fair, August 21-23 in Springfield, Ill.

Stones teams will have a 20-ft. square plot, basic set up materials for slabs or wall sections; up to 3 yd. of integrally colored ready mixed concrete; plus, an array of placing, stamping and finishing tools and materials. Each team will have three days to design and execute decorative slabs and other elements or structures, to be judged on overall quality of workmanship and design; unique features and functional attributes; use of color and materials; work area cleanliness; complexity; and, oral description of finished work. 

The Decorative Fair and Game of Stones will be staged at Solomon Colors’ training center along Interstate 55 in central Illinois. In addition to tours of the company’s nearby headquarters, the agenda includes 20-plus technical and business presentations, along with demonstrations and exhibits spotlighting the host’s namesake, Brickform and Ultra Fiber brands, plus allied supplier or manufacturer materials, methods and equipment.  —  www.decorativeconcretefair.com
