Concrete levels

Available in 24-, 48- and 72-in. sizes, Redstick levels offer what product engineers call an industry first: A 3-in-1 solution for a variety of slab screeding and smoothing applications with a magnesium base and overall design that is easy to clean.

“The levels take a three-tool operation down to one by allowing users to screed, smooth, and level,” says Milwaukee Tool Group Product Manager Ryan Schwoegler. “A magnesium base features a 2-in. wide working surface with rounded edge for smoothing and angled edge optimized for screeding and striking. Once the job is done, the level can be easily wiped clean.”

Critical to Redstick durability and performance in demanding concrete work, he adds, is a magnesium core that eliminates common frame deformations seen in box levels. The reinforced frame also creates a more secure and protected vial setting to promote measurement accuracy and prevent damage or loosening.

The levels’ Sharpsite vials augment readability and visual accuracy. Back bands create high contrast edges that make the magnified bubble easier to read and deliver precision-grade accuracy, especially when users need to easily find pitches of 1/8, 1/4 or 1 or 2 percent during critical applications such as water run-off for sidewalks, driveways and curbs. Built to withstand challenging jobsite conditions, the Sharpsite vials are engineered with high-impact acrylic to exhibit greater durability than standard block vials and protect accuracy over level service life.

To address situations where users need to screed and smooth in difficult positions, Redstick levels have been designed with an ergonomic keyhole shape. A precision milled measuring surface on the bottom contributes to finishing accuracy. Milwaukee Tool, Brookfield, Wis., 800/SAWDUST; www.milwaukeetool.com
