The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute has named Mason Lampton of Columbus, Ga.-based Standard Concrete Products Inc. as 2018 chairman, succeeding Daniel Juntunen, president and chief executive officer of Minnesota’s Wells Concrete.

Lampton is the president and co-owner of Standard Concrete Products, which fabricates structures for bridge and marine construction across the Southeast from Atlanta and Savannah, Ga., and Tampa, Fla., plants. “I look forward to expanding PCI’s important leadership role in the buildings and infrastructure markets through increased involvement in the government affairs arena and new areas of value to our members such as workforce development,” he says. “I also plan to continue strengthening our board’s commitment to the work PCI does, including research and development, education, and marketing, that increases the number of projects for which precast/prestressed concrete systems are considered the best solution among our competitors.”

“This is an exciting time for our industry, and we look forward to Mason’s drive and knowledge as we continue to look for ways to demonstrate precast concrete’s role in the marketplace of building and infrastructure solutions,” adds PCI President Bob Risser, P.E.

Joining Lampton on the 2018 PCI officer slate are Vice Chairman Keith Wallis Jr., FPCI, of Prestressed Casting Co., and Secretary-Treasurer J. Seroky of High Concrete Group.
