Sequatchie Concrete Service Inc. of South Pittsburg, Tenn., has added two plants in a deal for Cleveland Ready Mix, which served contractors in five eastern Tennessee counties for 50-plus years under late owner Claude Simpson. Sequatchie Concrete President Jesse Slaton told the Chattanooga Times Free Press that the acquisition will “strengthen our ability to serve customers along the Interstate 75 corridor.” The Cleveland and Calhoun, Tenn., plants join 20-plus Sequatchie Concrete ready mixed and block operations in eastern Tennessee, northwestern Georgia and northeastern Alabama.
