U.K. and U.S. clay and concrete product operator Ibstock has appointed Greg Silvestri as president of its key operating business, Wyomissing, Pa.-based Glen-Gery. He will oversee one of North America’s oldest and largest masonry brands, with 10 brick and stone plants plus 10 distribution sites serving 500-plus U.S. and Canadian dealers.

Following a Missouri Development Finance Board nod, Nucor has confirmed plans for a micro rebar steel mill in Sedalia, Mo. Located about 90 miles east of Kansas City and close to the Interstate 70 corridor, the facility is scheduled for 2019 start up pending award of state and local incentives and permits, plus regulatory approvals.
