Kryton hardens admixture portfolio in Cementec Industries deal

Concrete waterproofing specialist Kryton has acquired Calgary-based Cementec Industries Inc., which supplies silica fume and Hard-Cem, an integral hardening admixture whose abrasion and erosion resistant properties can reportedly extend structures’ service life up to six times that of plain concrete. Cementec slab and infrastructure solutions can be used with the Krystol Internal Membrane system to provide what Kryton officials dub “Smart Concrete solutions,” saving time, eliminating exposure to silica dust and providing increased design flexibility.

This month will see Cemex ready mixed, cement and aggregate operations in the U.S. and Mexico kick off a year-long, global deployment of Cemex Go, billed as a fully digital suite of services to help reduce customers’ administrative burden and free up time to focus on strategic business matters. Customers registering for the application will be able to work with the producer anytime and anywhere using multiple devices; review transaction histories; track shipments real-time via GPS; receive instant order status notifications; adjust orders; and, have full visibility and transparency of information they need to better manage their businesses.

To address a fragmented engineering and technical library supporting members’ products for mainline concrete highway repair or construction, the NPCA Precast Concrete Slabs Committee enlisted leading practitioners Peter Smith, P.E. and Mark B. Snyder, Ph.D., P.E. to write and produce the photo- and schematic-rich Manual of Jointed Precast Concrete Pavement.

Besser loads 2018 Blockmakers Workshop series
