Amid start up of its 2 million ton/year Port-Daniel–Gascons mill in eastern Quebec, McInnis Cement has outlined an Atlantic provinces distribution plan anchored on the acquisition of two CRH Canada terminals serving New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. McInnis will honor the facilities’ order log, integrate current staff, and—under a separate agreement—begin cement deliveries to CRH Canada terminals in Long Pond, Argentia and Corner Brook, Newfoundland this fall.

Commercial Construction Index reveals sustained contractor optimism

Commercial construction is in high demand across the U.S. and contractors remain optimistic about the current and forward-looking health of the sector, according to the Q3 USG Corporation + U.S. Chamber of Commerce Commercial Construction Index. Nearly all contractors surveyed (95 percent) expect revenues to grow or remain stable over the next 12 months compared to the prior 12 months, consistent with Q2 2017 survey responses.

Oldcastle Precast accelerates bridge delivery with early P-T placement

Oldcastle Precast Idaho Falls teamed with Bonneville Power Administration, HK Contractors and Bryant Greene Concrete to replace a bridge at the entrance to Pine Basin Camp in Swan Valley, Idaho. Condemned in fall 2016, the existing structure was the only access to the youth camp and a critical link to canyon-routed electrical systems serving Swan Valley plus the neighboring towns of Victor and Driggs.
