Design, planning, and surveying firm WGI is joining forces with consulting and structural engineer Carl Walker, Inc., whose founder built the best known brand in concrete parking structure practice through successful deployment of precast/prestressed members for long-span conditions, project economy and construction speed.
“WGI’s client-centered approach, strong work ethic, values, and expertise in transportation and planning, along with the compelling opportunity for growth, were significant factors for the move to WGI,” says Carl Walker CEO Gary Cudney, P.E., who along with other principals and colleagues will continue in their current roles after a transaction projected to close June 30. “Joining WGI expands our professional services, footprint, and ability to develop sustainable, engaging and adaptable parking solutions for clients nationwide.”
With offices in Chicago, Dallas, Indianapolis, Michigan and North Carolina, Carl Walker adds a 12th business division to WGI, which has eight Florida offices. The combined firm will serve an active client base in 30-plus states and have nearly 400 associates. The widely recognized Walker brand will remain, operating as “Carl Walker, a division of WGI.”
“We are excited about the expanded national presence and capabilities that Carl Walker brings to our firm and our diverse infrastructure team,” affirms WGI CEO David Wantman. “Its thirty-four years of innovative designs and solutions will provide a wonderful complement to [our] team.”
