Deerfield Beach, Fla.-based Mapei Americas has named Jesse Osborne as general manager of its GRT concrete admixtures and cement additives division, Eagan, Minn. Reporting to Mapei North America CEO Luigi Di Geso, he will interface with the Mapei Global Liquid Admixture Group, headed by Walter Nussbaumer, and the company’s Research & Development Center in Milan, Italy. His arrival coincides with planning for an admixtures R&D facility at Mapei’s new plant in Logan Township, N.J.



Jesse Osborne

Osborne, whose 37 years of industry experience includes tours of duty with BASF and Euclid Chemical, is tasked with expanding the regional Mapei/GRT sales territory into a national footprint. Geographic expansion will begin in Texas and the Southeastern United States, and spread up the Atlantic Coast to the Northeast. The division will also eye synergies with Mapei facilities and sales staff in Canada.

Matt Childs

After 12 years as American Concrete Pipe Association president, Matt Childs has joined Iowa-based pipe and precast machinery specialist HawkeyePedershaab Concrete Technologies Inc. as vice president of Sales, responsible for the North American market. Childs served as ACPA director of Engineering Services prior to taking the helm, and is credited with leading an expansion of the association into all corners of the industry and recruiting a top technical team to help producer members expand concrete pipe market share. Leading into his arrival at ACPA in 2000, he worked as project engineer and project manager with two Fort Worth, Texas, engineering firms specializing in infrastructure design. Childs holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Brad Schmidgall

Separately, Brad Schmidgall has been promoted from HawkeyePedershaab executive vice president of Sales to president. He will lead sales, engineering and service groups, working alongside Ryan Gable, HawkeyePedershaab CEO and managing director of St. Louis-based BW Forsyth Partners, which acquired the company in 2016. Over a 16-year tenure, Schmidgall has worked out of both the Iowa and Denmark offices, and been an integral part of engineering, marketing and sales departments.

Marianne Johnson

Marianne Johnson has joined Marcantonini Concrete Technology Group, North America Division, as director of Operations. Based in Clearwater, Fla., she will oversee plant engineering and production. MCT Group maintains Reno, Nev., headquarters, and specializes in custom material handling and batch plant solutions for ready mixed and manufactured concrete production, leveraging management and controls software programmed in house.

Charles Evans

Command Alkon has named Charles Evans as chief technology officer and vice president of Engineering, tasked with leading the development of new products and technologies, while further enhancing the business value derived from the company’s current suite of information technology offerings. He will partner with clients, industry thought leaders, and technology innovators to introduce breakthrough solutions that drive value globally.

Evans brings over 30 years’ experience leading and managing software product development and IT efforts. Prior to joining Birmingham, Ala.-based Command Alkon, he was chief technology officer for Integraph Process, Power & Marine, where he led a cloud computing architecture transformation and grew product capabilities in such areas as mobile device platforms, visualization, augmented reality, Internet of Things, and analytics. Evans graduated from Southern Technical Institute with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

Separately, Command Alkon has appointed Ed Rusch as vice president, Marketing, responsible for growing the company’s mindshare in construction materials and executing digital marketing strategies. He brings over 15 years of experience leading business-to-business marketing programs that strengthen brands, drive growth, and create positive momentum in complex, global industries.

Prior to joining Command Alkon, Rusch was vice president, Corporate Marketing at Elemica, where he directed rebranding and marketing program digitization, and helped garner Technology Association of Georgia recognition as one of the state’s Top 10 Most Innovative Companies.
