Market opportunities compel Ozinga RMC’s move into Miami

One of the top ready mixed concrete operators in Chicago and neighboring Great Lakes markets is bringing its production, fleet management and customer service competencies to South Florida. Ozinga Ready Mix Concrete has opened a charter plant in Miami, eyeing residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.

Ozinga Florida’s inaugural site has a high-efficiency batch plant and a 30-mixer fleet of 10.5-yd. paver models, mounted on Kenworth T880s and equipped with aluminum chutes; Verifi slump monitoring and management devices; plus, safety features such as backup cameras and Smart Witness forward-facing cameras.

Concrete industry and South Florida market veterans leading the new business are Vice President and General Manager Jose F. Diaz, Jr.; Vice President of Business Development Pepe Diaz; and, Vice President of Sales J.C. Calleiro. They are recruiting drivers, sales staff, operations managers, quality control technicians, dispatchers, mechanics and maintenance personnel, offering candidates “a fulfilling work experience, competitive salaries, healthcare benefits and retirement plans that are second to none.” Ozinga Florida staff will join a company with a proven track record of safe and responsible operations serving Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan, and a 1,500-plus payroll.
