Separation Technologies LLC Director Business Development Dr. Cesar Constantino will deliver the inaugural presentation under a new program linking North America-based ASTM members with overseas peers aiming to apply Society standards to strengthen their practices and industries.
The ASTM International Ambassadors program will officially kick off in Lima with Dr. Constantino’s November 24 presentation on concrete technology at a College of Engineers of Peru-hosted conference. Timed with Peruvian Civil Engineering Week, the event enables him “to share how ASTM standards are supporting new concrete technologies and innovations that help Latin America grow in a smart and sustainable way,” he says. “I look forward to empowering more technical experts that want to use ASTM standards or contribute to standards development.”
Dr. Constantino is an ASTM director and member of Committees C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates; C01 on Cement; E50 on Environmental Assessment, Risk Management and Corrective Action; and, E60 on Sustainability. He arrived at Roanoke, Va.-based Separation Technologies, Titan America’s fly ash marketing and beneficiation technology business, from Titan Florida LLC. Joining him in the Ambassadors Program’s Latin America pilot is Pavement Preservation Systems President Dr. Delmar Salomon, asphalt specialist. Notes ASTM Vice President of Global Cooperation Teresa Cendrowska, “I have no doubt [the first ambassadors] will bring powerful information to fast-growing economies such as Peru, Chile and Colombia that want to use even more ASTM standards in their infrastructure initiatives.”
