Ferro Corp. has entered agreements to acquire certain assets of Georgia-based toll blender Delta Performance Products, plus a Belgium business, Cappelle Pigments NV. Delta incorporates Ferro’s complex inorganic colored pigments in customized blends for ready mixed and manufactured concrete, especially hardscape units.
Privately-held Cappelle produces specialty, high-performance inorganic and organic pigments used in coatings, inks and plastics. It specializes in weather-, heat-, and light-resistant organic pigments, and is a market leader in certain compounds that complement Ferro’s market leadership positions in complex inorganic colored and Ultramarine Blue pigments.
“These acquisitions are great additions to our growing Pigments business. Both fit extremely well into the strategy for our color solutions businesses,” says Ferro Chairman and CEO Peter Thomas. “We create value for customers by combining and manipulating pigments to produce specialized color solutions that provide functional attributes for our customers’ end products, or improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their supply chain and manufacturing processes.”
