Pennsylvania aggregate and concrete masonry producer York Building Products recently closed on Cockeysville, Md.-based Cinder & Concrete Block Corp., a gray concrete masonry unit producer and hardscape unit distributor.
“Cinder & Concrete’s production capacity and existing customer base will help ensure the future growth of [our] brand, and we are excited about the integration of products between the two companies,” says York Building Vice President of Operations Jason Schmitz.
“This will allow us to provide a greater level of product offering, increase customer service and help us reach a broader market area,” adds Cinder & Concrete President Greg McElwee. “We believe our customers and employees will be pleased with the future course of the company.”
Romeoville, Ill.-based stormwater management systems developer StormTrap has entered a licensing and production agreement granting Lafarge Canada Inc. exclusive rights to proprietary precast concrete detention and retention products from Manitoba to British Columbia. Lafarge Canada serves western province drainage markets from precast and pipe plants in Calgary and Edmonton.
StormTrap structures and components control water volumes and flows leaving a site. The large, underground concrete chambers are engineered to contain water from peak weather events, gradually releasing it at a controlled rate or storing it for irrigation. The systems comply with Canadian surface-loading requirements and are completely modular for customized site needs. The licensing agreement, notes StormTrap Vice President of Sales Shawn Luton, “is perfectly suited to fully leverage the potential of [our] intellectual property and serves as an ideal addition to our partnership with LafargeHolcim.”
“StormTrap further adds to environmental and sustainable product offerings which support LEED and other green building programs,” says Lafarge Canada Stormwater Specialist Graham Fuga.
