The National Steering Committee and CIM Program patrons from Middle Tennessee State University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Texas State University and California State University, Chico have begun collecting equipment, material, and sports, entertainment or travel packages plus other items for the 12th annual auction, to be staged January 18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center—amid 2017 World of Concrete day two.

Organizers aim to eclipse the $925,000 gross revenue from silent, online and live bidding logged during this year’s auction. “The National Steering Committee has raised nearly $6 million through the previous 11 CIM Auctions,” notes CIM Marketing Committee Chairman Brian Gallagher. “We’ve been blessed with tremendous support from the concrete industry [and] World of Concrete management has been an amazing partner.”

Auction proceeds benefit the four-year Concrete Industry Management degree programs at the Tennessee, New Jersey, Texas and California schools, along with a more recently offered executive MBA program. Auction items have included concrete mixer trucks; plant equipment; cement and fly ash loads; small construction machines; concrete tools; sports memorabilia and event tickets; plus, sport or leisure travel packages. Individuals, suppliers, manufacturers and service providers interested in making donations can contact 2017 CIM Auction Committee Chairman Michael Philipps, 713/722-2969, [email protected].
