Equipped with a Perkins 854F Tier 4 Final diesel engine, the 15,500-lb. capacity DP70N1 pneumatic tire truck delivers greater fuel efficiency than its predecessor model, along with field-proven performance, increased uptime and a host of standard features to optimize the operator’s driving experience. The new Cat Lift Trucks machine is designed to work in concrete and other heavy-duty applications, and features Diesel Oxidation Catalyst and Selective Catalytic Reduction aftertreament technology that will not require any additional maintenance after installation.
“Increased fuel efficiency and high performance were two key focus areas with development of this model,” says Cat Lift Trucks Product Line Manager Lucas Dumdie. “In addition to meeting stringent Environmental Protection Agency Tier 4 Final standards, the DP70N1 boasts an 18 percent increase in fuel efficiency over the previous generation without sacrificing performance. Customers will also benefit from the advanced Perkins engine with maintenance-free aftertreatment and fuel saver mode features.”
Beyond the Perkins 854F engine and its compact exhaust aftertreatment package, he cites the DP70N1’s extended service intervals and maintenance ease. The machine is equipped with an engine protection system that a) notifies operators of critical factors, including when vital fluids are low or engine maintenance is required; and, b) automatically lowers maximum rpm and slows travel and hydraulic speeds when the truck is not performing at acceptable levels, effectively reducing the potential for damage or costly repairs. Maintenance is simple and expedient owing to an easy-access engine cover and 500-hour extended service intervals.
Where operator comfort is concerned, the DP70N1 has such standard features as cowl-mounted three-way hydraulic control valves; full-suspension seat; elevated exhaust; and, rubber mounted components for noise and vibration reduction. Customers can further customize the truck to their application with a wide-range of options, including a climate-controlled operator cabin or armrest-integrated fingertip controls. — Cat Lift Trucks, Houston, www.mcfa.com/cat
