W.R. Grace spinoff repackages Grace Construction Products

Nearly a year after management outlined a proposed split into two public companies, W.R. Grace completed the separation of its namesake business from a new entity, GCP Applied Technologies. The latter was officially formed February 3 in a distribution of GCP stock, at 1:1 ratio, to W.R. Grace shareholders. GCP Applied Technologies’ two global businesses, concrete admixture mainstay Grace Construction Products and Darex Packaging, have 2,800-plus employees in locations on six continents, and serve customers in more than 110 countries.

Vulcan Western Division mines premier Environmental Product Declaration for aggregates

The document provides data for four primarily concrete-grade fine and coarse aggregates, plus eight other grades best suited to base, drainage and asphalt from the producer’s Pleasanton, Calif., quarry.

OSHA, crane interests extend hazard prevention-focused partnership

OSHA and the Crane, Hoist and Monorail (CHM) Partners have renewed an alliance to improve the safety and health of workers who manufacture and use overhead material handling equipment. During the five-year agreement, they will develop best practice fact sheets and training resources aimed at preventing worker exposures to electrical shock, electrocution, falls from elevation and being struck-by moving equipment.
