Dublin-based CRH Plc has appointed Senan Murphy as group finance director, effective January 2016, succeeding Maeve Carton, who will become group transformation director. Both will be members of the Group Board.
A chartered accountant, Murphy (46) holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Dublin, and has 25-plus years’ experience in international business across financial services, banking and renewable energy. He joins CRH from Bank of Ireland Group Plc, where he is presently chief operating officer and executive committee member. Murphy previously held positions as chief operating officer and finance director at Ulster Bank; chief financial officer at Airtricity; and, senior financial roles at GE, both in Ireland and the United States.
