Organizers of the world’s leading trade fair for construction and building material machinery—staged every three years in Munich— are opening the bauma Innovation Award program to entries this month. The competition draws developments that offer future potential, practical benefit and cost-efficiency, and is a joint initiative of bauma organizers, the German Engineering Federation, German Construction Industry Association, Central Association of the German Construction Industry, and German Building Materials Association. bauma 2016 runs April 11–17 at the Messe München exhibition center. Those eligible to enter are bauma exhibitors, research institutes and related entities, plus members of leading German construction industry associations. Application documents can be obtained here.
Awards are presented in Machinery, Components, Construction process/Construction work, Research and Design categories. They acknowledge promising, future-capable, cost-efficient developments offering a high practical benefit that contribute to energy and resource-efficiency and/or humanization of the workplace. All category nominations must be relevant to the construction or construction equipment, building material and mining equipment industries. An international jury of representatives from research, industry, and the trade press nominate three innovations in each category. Award presentations will be part of the bauma 2016 opening ceremony on April 10 in Munich. Additional information can be obtained at www.bauma-innovation-award.com/en; www.bauma.de.
